Unfamiliar Town

The sound of the church bell
rang through her as she awoke.
The clock read too early for her liking,
until she leaned up…allowing the sun to wake her face.
The curtains swayed slowly
as the hills behind them seemed to go on for days.
The smell of petrichor filled the air,
as the previous nights rain watered the ground
of this unfamiliar town.
